Q: how do I get my gps to work in my Mazda RX8?
I moved from California New Jersey recently and my DVD Nav System is still showing my old Cali address as the starting point how do I change that?

A: It's actually pretty easy. Go to you main navigation menu where it has the image of the united states. And you need to change your region. Most of our Mazda's you just select the map and it will take you to the region list. If you need further assistance I'll play with one tomorrow for you. What year is your RX8?

Q: Who can tell me about the Mazda RX8?
I love the look of this car and I would like to purchase one but 1st I need to know as much as possible about this car. Why is it that I can only find this car with a 1.3 ltr Engine? Is there something special about this engine? Please tell me what you know about this car.

A: unless you have lots of money I would stay clear I work for mazda and they cost an absolute fortune to run petrol app 24 to the gallon if you drive it like a woose!!! the problems are with flywheels right now! and spark plugs are back order from the factory . service costs are high too. BEWARE!!!! I HAVE TOLD YOU!!!!!!!!

Q: How can i make my Mazda Rx8 faster? Without spending a lot of money i want to bring it close to a 400-500hp?

A: You may not get the HP quite that high, but there are a number of mods you can perform for little to no cost. Try emissions bypass hacks and such. Also, have your computer reprogrammed, it really doesn't cost a lot. Also, try smaller increases like short ram air intake and performance air filters. K&N makes a great performance filter. Upgrade your spark plugs, wires, type of oil you use, get rid of ballast (extra weight). There's so much you can do for little to no cost to upgrade the HP.

Q: How often does Mazda RX8 require oil change?

A: Every 3000 miles if you cherish your engine. Make sure you use exactly the correct grade of oil that Mazda recommend, and use a genuine Mazda filter as well. Rotary engines are not the unreliable items they once used to be, but you really don't want those rotor-tips wearing out too soon.

Q: I heard that the mazda rx8 drink a hell of a lot of fuel. ?
Is there anyway at all to reduce the amount of fuel the car drinks? or is this impossible? I think that converts to approx 21lt/100km from where i'm from. If so dammnnn, that is alot more than i expected. I guess an rx8 is out of the question now.

A: I have a Rx8!! It is awful on gas, about 125-200 miles per 15.9 gallon tank depending on my driving. It is amazing to drive. I just got a 2009 Mazda 6 and its nice driving a 100 miles on a 1/4 tank, but the rev of the rx8 it waaaaay worth it. Best car ever. I hope I never have to get rid of it!

Q: I own a Mazda RX8, and I wanted to know about upgrading my pulleys. Is it worth the effort.?
I just want to know the pro's and cons, I have heard somee good things and some bad, I have have heard go for the underdrive, some say go with the crank pulley, just wondered if anyone knew about this stuff?

A: when you have a 500HP engine adding light weight parts will add a great performance but an stock engine...... that will not add such a great HP gain but if you will continue adding more and more you will have later a good street performance engine make sure the pulley are in a GOOD brand or you can damage your engine because if the part is not well balanced i can start to damage the crankshaft

Q: Anyone want to know how to unlock the race car mode an a Mazda rx8?

A: yes plz tell me i drive 1 mile to work every morning and i wanna do it drifting

A: TRY THIS LINK http://www.finishlineperformance.com/pdf/rx8/bulletin/09-008-07-1729a.pdf

Q: what is the navigation system in the mazda rx8 capable of?
and i only mean the one that it comes with built in

A: Kind of a vague question. It will direct you from point A to B after you select the locations. Much easier if you mentioned what kinda feature you want... Click the link then check interior features/navigation. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=modelsMain&vehicleCode=RX8&providertag=MazdaSEM&servicetag=NationalRX8&sem=1&s_kwcid=mazda%20rx8|1084222243&bhcp=1

Q: What do you guys think of 05 Mazda RX8 6MT.?
I am planing on buying an 05 or 04 perhaps mazda rx8. 6mt. Any tips and advice would be usefull

A: Since I own an '05 RX8 6MT I think it's a great car. I bought mine new in the summer of '05. It's a beautifully styled car with a great interior. You can actually transport 4 people in comfort and the rear passengers don't require a chiropractor to straighten their spine after entering or exiting the car.. Although it's not a red-light racer it has good power and is plenty fast. It has phenomenal brakes and outstanding handling. It has a usable trunk...something it's competitors don't have. On the downside, it doesn't get great gas mileage but the 17 mpg I get is about on par with its competitors. The rotary engine is an exotic and does require a knowledgeable owner to maintain it properly if you want it to last. Be sure to check out the forums at: http://www.rx8club.com to learn about the rotary and how to maintain it. The '04 models, being the first production year, had the most problems. This is completely normal as all 1st model years seem to be like this. As long as you still have warranty you should be Ok. Check the service history to see what has been done and compare it to issues reported at RX8Club. The '05's had far less major issues. The only problem I've had was moisture in the tail lights...replaced under warranty. The motor warranty on all models has been extended to 8 years and about 100K miles. Before purchasing you may want to have the engine tested. Buying a used rotary-engined car always carries the risk and assumption that the engine may need rebuilding/replacing since the previous owner may not have had the knowledge to maintain it correctly. It's not a piston engine and cannot be treated as one. Don't worry, though, you've got a lot of warranty left. You may want the dealership to go through a de-carboning service while your there, too, to ensure you start off with a clean motor.
