Q: toyota??????????????
My moms 1993 toyota corollas battery light was coming on. She took it to have it tested and they said the battery was fine but the alternator wasn't. She had a new alternator put on. The battery light was still coming on though. Now the car is dead and wont start or anything. What's wrong? Please help! Its our only car and we need it to get out of an abusive home. Thanks

A: make sure all the connection are tight. if you can move the battery terminals, even a little bit, it needs to be tightened. make sure there's enough tension on the alternator belt, and check the thick wire on the back of it, if it moves, it needs to be tightened. it is possible the alternator is bad, even though it's "new".

Q: How long before a JGR Toyota takes down the checkered flag?
The Dodges and the Fords have been doing a better job than Hendrick Motorsports at keeping Toyota out of winners circle. All hail the Chevrolets for winning the next race. You didn't think Stewart would never win another race, because he's driving a Toyota. When will the force of JGR give Toyota their first cup win?

A: Kyle Bush either this weekend or Bristol!!!!!!

Q: How long will Toyota remain as the largest auto manufactorer in the world?
Toyota has replaced GM as the largest manufactorer of automobiles. It is by far the most profitable automaker.Which comapny has the potential to replace Toyota frm its dominant position.

A: the first company to develop a good hydrogen car will be the next champion. GM is working on it as well as some other companies.....then no more need for Arab oil so they will not have any $$$ to support terrorists.....they will go back to their caves again like they did before we needed their oil making a more peaceful world again /

Q: Are Toyota plants in Australia going to close down ?
I have heard from a lot of people that '' Toyota is going down '' and that closing down by 2010 is likely. Does anyone know if this is true?

A: I work at Toyota Main North American Opperations Center, dont be suprised if it closes down.... They are laying people off left in right, they cut our printing down dramatically and took away all the coffee pots ...as there trying to save money...Toyota to the public seems like sales are strong..but trust me its not... They beleive taking our coffe pots away is going to save the comapny 80 000 a year.

Q: 84 Toyota truck is making a light knocking sound?
I have a 1984 Toyota truck that makes a slight knocking sound or a "duh-duh-duh-duh-duh" sound while running. It doesnt seem to be affecting the way it runs and has been making this sound for a couple years now. Someone suggested i needed a valve adjustment. The trucks engine seems solid and this is probably a minor problem, but i want to provide any necessary maintenance before any serious problems arise. Any advice would be appreciated.

A: If it isnt a 'tinny' sound does it have an air pump (i.e. california emissions) it sounds like an air pump noise! Its not unusual if you have a bad air pump diverter valve

Q: How many people own Toyota Celicas and what do you have under the hood and exhaust?
How much torque and horsepower are you putting out? What year do you have, model and make? This is to all my Toyota Celica drivers out there! Celica Fans across the nation baby! Toyota is moving forward! Flavor Flav! LOL

A: Celicas, Gotta love 'Em!!! Mine is a bit retro. Its a 1978 Celica GT hatchback. Rear wheel drive, solid axles not independent. It's all stock 4 cyl 20R engine something over 2,300cc carbureted, makes 96hp. 5spd manual trans. That 96hp don't sound like much but I'm not shy about redlining the tach. I'm constantly surprised at how many new cars with twice the Hp it'll beat off stoplights. It really shines on a crooked 2 lane road. It handles very much like the True Sportscars I drove back in the 60's such as the TR6 and Austin Healy 3000 The best part is the price I paid for it. I got it for $795. I've done some repairs as you would expect for a car of that age. I've had it abt 3.5 years, rebuilt the carb soon after I got it. Replaced the origional clutch when it had a little over 140,000 mi on it. Replaced the radiator soon after that. Blew a head gasket this past Xmas and replaced it myself engine got 160,000 mi on it at that time. Cyl walls and pistons hardly show any wear. Valves in excellent shape, cam just starting to show a little wear. No timing belt in that engine! Steel gears running a double row timing chain with absolutely NO play in it. I've done other minor maintainence like rear shox and replaced all the Vacuum hoses, tailpipe and muffler and a cracked exaust manifold. I call it my PO-BOY sportscar! I got a working factory 8 track tape player in the dash! Really a FUN car to drive.

Q: What Toyota dealership in the US is the largest volume leader?
By volume I'm referring to the dealership that sells the most new Toyota's.

A: Here's the closest I could find. It's the list of biggest dealerships that also have high satisfaction index ratings. Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA is the biggest one listed, although there may be a bigger one that didn't have high customer satisfaction. (So I doubt you'd want that one anyway...) According to the Longo Toyota website, they call themselves "The World's Largest Dealership," so I I'd guess they are indeed the highest volume.

Q: What is the average salary of a Toyota Salesman in a large dealership?
I have a job offer as a Toyota Salesman in San Diego. I also have the opportunity to work as an assistant store manager at VONS. I need help making a decision.

A: There is no average salary. Its all on commission. My step father used to work for a Toyota dealership and he would have good months and extremely bad months. The money is never constant. He could have a several $1000 bonus, commission check one month, then the next only $200, which he has to pay back to the dealership when he makes that much up. It really sucked. If you aren't depended on the money or a lot of it, its a good job. But if you need money and a set amount each month, I would look for anohter job. good luck

Q: How much should a clutch for a Toyota 4 runner cost?
I have a 1990 Toyota 4 runner w/ 160,000 miles on it and I need a new clutch. I can't afford to overpay for it and wanted to know what it should cost to have it replaced?

A: between $700.00 and $900.00 slightly higher if its 4x4

Q: How to change the fuel filter for a Toyota Targo 1999 model?
How to change the fuel filter for a Toyota Targo 1999 model? Please be accurate as this is for a real car!

A: Tarago? Sorry no experience with those. But as it can't be more difficult than any other automobile, if you want to do it without getting any kind of manual specific for your vehicle - which I suggest so it can show you where the location is - then you would have to just get under it and trace the fuel lines from the fuel tank until where the filter is. There may be one incorporated inside the tank or more commonly is inline with the fuel line under the vehicle. Yet another may be in the engine compartment near the fire wall before the fuel line connects to the fuel rail. Easiest way to learn for your vehicle is to get a manual for that van. 1. Depressurize the system. 2. Remove old filter (have rags and drip pan available to contain the mess). 3. Install the new filter. 4. Pressurize the system 5. Run the vehicle for a few minutes. 6. Check for leaks. Some of the sites below may help you too. Just trying to help as I noticed no one answered this question yet! Good luck!

Q: What is the best way to get replacement Toyota car keys?
My remaining car key, itself a copy, is starting to wear out. It does not reliably open the doors of my 94 Camry, but it does operate the ignition OK. I am nervous about losing this key, and a 3rd generation duplicate may not do the job. I once heard that there are only a relatively small number of unique Toyota keys. Instead of hiring a locksmith and getting all the locks rekeyed, are there low-cost alternatives?

A: You can go to your Toyota dealer, and using the VIN number of your car they can make you a new key. That's the easiest way, they don't even have to copy your existing copy.

Q: If a Toyota key is reprogrammed does it change the way a stolen key works?
I had a secondary Toyota key stolen. If I get my original key re-programmed will the secondary key still work? What do I need to do to keep the stolen key from working with my car?

A: To be 100% secure you may have to change the whole locking system i.e. security device, immobiliser, door and boot lock and lastly the ignition lock. Seriously speaking can you afford it when Toyota is charging £180 simply to make out a duplicate key, what to talk about changing the whole system simply to deactivate the stolen key? You will be better off just change your car.

Q: What is the most important problem facing the Toyota Corporation?
What recommendation(s) would you make to the Toyota Corporation, and in what order of priorities? How do you balance between your commitment to shareholders and your commitment to the community

A: Keeping vehicles in stock. Continue succesful actions. I use a postage scale to balance my commitments.

Q: How come Toyota is one of the most profitable auto makers.Yet they have less factories in US than rivals?
I have heard that Toyota is one of the most profitable auto makers and they have less factories in the US than Honda or Nissan and that most of their cars are imported ie the percentage of US made content in their cars are less. Then how come can they maintain their profitability.

A: Mad Jack should get his facts right,Toyota workers make the same wages as GM,Ford and Chrysler workers. There are at least 2 Toyota plants that are UAW(Tacoma,Corolla) and in Japan they do have labor unions.Half of all Toyota's sold in the US are imported, because Japan and Toyota work together to keep the yen artificially undervalued they make about $4000 average on every vehicle brought into the US.Because of this they have recently said they will not be building any more assembly plants in the US,they make more money importing the vehicles.Consumer Reports said today that Toyota's reliability and quality are falling with the Tundra motor and 4 wheel drive system problems along with the Camry transmission problems and now Ford has higher quality.

Q: Is it possible to transfer my loan from Toyota Financial services over to my friend?
I just bought a car for $13,000 with taxes and I have $11,000 left to pay on it. I don't want anything to do with the car since I am moving to the city and I would like to sign everything over to my friend if possible. Is it possible to transfer a loan from Toyota Financial services over to my friend and sign the car over to him? I called them and the correct awnser is that it is possible if my friend has a credit score equal to or better than mine.

A: You will have to call toyota financial to see if he can assume the loan. If so he will have to fill out a credit application just like he was buying a car at a dealer. Usually it costs money for him to assume the loan but you could work out who is paying that. Call them first. If not you could sell it to him as a private sale and he could get a loan from a bank or credit union.
